The Leren Connor website is easy to navigate and has a beautiful
modern design; you can see the different collections and collaborations, and
there's some stunning photography to feast your eyes on too! All the clothes
are handmade, with materials sourced from all over - upcycled and recycled too. There's handmade jewellery if that's more your kinda thing and it's all just delightful.
The Enigma of the Androgynous
Rules Breed Rebels
"We don’t want to
live in a world where we have to label our selves to fit in, we don’t want the
responsibly of living up to yours and there expectations of what is considered
acceptable. We will not yield to social conformity or lay down our freedom as
if our souls are meaningless. We will wonder together and with him or, another.
For we do not know who we are, but who are we, if we do not exist within each
other? Why embrace wealth when we can rebel against it? Why stay in the box
when we can stay out of it? We embrace the cold, for our fire burns deep, we
love as two souls meeting as equals, we do not need nor do we want to regard
the opinions of others for we are the breed of rebels that arose when the rules
were broken."
I love the recurring theme of the checked print spanning different colour palettes; everything is so gorgeous and the pieces seem really versatile. You could dress them up or down - the checked pants would easily look good with a jumper for day to day wear, or a cute crop top and heels for a night out. The pieces are pretty affordable too, and I can't wait to get my hands on some of them to style them in my own way! Androgynous fashion is something I'm a massive fan of, too, as I think it's classy without being OTT - and in a world of adapting gender roles, girls in tuxedos are spot on.
Spotted anything you like from the Leren Connor AW15 collection? I love EVERYTHING.
